Try a pedometer. Pedometers are a great way to put your activity level into perspective, because they measure the steps you take each day. Keep in mind that less than 5,000 steps indicates a sedentary lifestyle; 5,000-7,500 is low active; 7,500-10,000 is moderately active; 10,000-12,500 is active; and anything over 12,500 is very active. Work up to 10,000 or more steps per day.
